Did some research when looking to upgrade my Scout. This rifle will be used in the tactical carbine role and hopefully I can convince my agency to allow me to use this as my patrol rifle. I Chose Vltor on price, material, and location. I live in the town where the factory is located, so I was able to go down and speak with the owners directly. I chose the Modstock in green and upgraded the standard stock to the EMod (Enhanced carbine Modstock) The folks at Vltor cut me a great deal and saved me about $80 over the list price. The stock fit my Scout very snugly, but not too tight. The EMod is much like an AR style stock that is 6 position adjustable based on your length of pull and your current load out. The toe of the stock is rolled under to aid in better transition from ready to shooting positions and is a bit heaver to help better balance the rifle. Weight is comparable to the OE stock and material is rough enough to offer good grip both bare and gloved hands but is not abrasive. Stock is weather proof and durable. There is storage in the pistol grip and the EMod however, the gun is heave enough. I prefer to carry spare parts and batteries elsewhere.

This stock works for me, but I would encourage anyone interested in upgrading to look at all the available options and choose what is best for your application.

Good surfing.

I have one on my SOCOM 16, it works beautifully. It was easy to install, and I can easily transition between my scope, reflex site, and iron sites. My stock is synthetic as well. I tried other ones, like the strap on ones and the sleeves with insert and didn't like them. I had to adjust them each time I fired.

Thanks....I waited so long for a relpy from the group that I've already ordered it and received it. Now I'm just waiting on my stock to get back from Springfield from having some work done and I can install it. I was pretty sure the feedback was going to be positive but as before, thanks for the review.

I'm not sure if this is the right group in the forum but it's the closest one that came up in the search options.

I want to know if anyone has any experience with the poly-molded adjustable cheek riser. I have my scope mount and rings at the position I think will suite me and I'm now ready to add some sort of cheek rest. There are a variety on the market but one that caught my attention is this one. No. 1- It's weather proof and 2- it's quickly adjusted with a couple of turns of the knurled knobs.

Here's a file image of one on a wood stock. I plan on installing on my synthetic stock

if I get positive feedback. Anyone?

that price was for a transferable (person to person with a fbi background check and tax stamp $200) full auto m14 (gang members dont register anything), gangs use anything they can steal or trade drugs for including mac's and uzi's which are a favorite. most legal full autos are law enforcement only(post may) or dealer LE sample (pre may) which eliminates the transfer to individual possibility one of my buddys bought one of the old FBI thompson 1928's with the blue padded rectangle boxes for 17000, sure its a blast to shoot but not worth the cash outlay in my eyes, when you can buy a semi auto for less than $1000, that 16000 can pay for alot of ammo

I took mine from a loaded to a M21 clone. Perhaps some of it I could have done, but to be honest most of it I couldn't. I research everything so I was informed and bought what I thought would improve my rifle to where I wanted it to be. I then hired a my local gunsmith whom I knew had the skill. We talked about threw the process keeping me in the loop. Fitting the stock better to me. My parts his skill the rifle is quite nice and more than expected.

I'd assess what you want and ask yourself if you can do it. If your unsure you should perhaps have it done. the parts for these are not that cheap. Good luck with your rifle...
