Can you give me a ball park figure on an M14 rifle? I bet they are pretty expensive? How do they compare to other rifles when it comes to price?

That sounds about right. If you can even own a fully automatic weapon where you live, any of them will cost you big time. Wheter it be a Thompson, earlier M16, or an M14, you'd better have deep pockets.

If they are running that much, then how are these type weapons ending up on the streets? Gang members are carrying them, correct? Where are they coming from?

You'd have to do your own research, as I haven't seen any statistics for recent years, but most gun crimes are commited with handguns. In the past it was cheaper guns that shot rounds like the .38 special. And so called ''assualt weapons'' like the semiautomtic M1A or AR 15, account for a very small percentage in gun related crime (1%) maybe less. And actuall full auto weapons account for even less. You're more likely to be kicked to death, than to be shot buy an "assualt weapon" or a fully automatic weapon.

that price was for a transferable (person to person with a fbi background check and tax stamp $200) full auto m14 (gang members dont register anything), gangs use anything they can steal or trade drugs for including mac's and uzi's which are a favorite. most legal full autos are law enforcement only(post may) or dealer LE sample (pre may) which eliminates the transfer to individual possibility one of my buddys bought one of the old FBI thompson 1928's with the blue padded rectangle boxes for 17000, sure its a blast to shoot but not worth the cash outlay in my eyes, when you can buy a semi auto for less than $1000, that 16000 can pay for alot of ammo

I'd love to have a full auto weapon sometime. M14 or whatever, but I'd have to be a millionaire inorder to justify it. Full autos are fun to shoot, but really, unless your spraying an area with a SAW or something, your not gonna hit your target. You'll hit everything else though.

There is one class III M14 on GUNS AMERICA for $26,999 and another one on Firepower Forums for $24,995. I don't care about full auto myself. I fired one in Las Vegas at a range one time and didn't do too bad for a newbie. With a little coaching you actually can hit. The cost can kill you. It was fun to do once but not to spend that kind of dough.
