Hi,

This is Cooleemee Edd, writing from the Heart of Carolina. I am in the midst of doing a trade for an M1A.  I have wanted one ever since I knew they were being made. I trained on an M-14, then carried one in Vietnam in 1969-1970. At the time, I thought that the M-16 (which I trained/qualified with in one day about a week before being shipped to the war zone) felt like a toy (Mattel, to be exact).  I learned that this was not true, of course, but very quickly turned in the M-16 for a '14.  I have made some long shots with the M-14 with iron sights, and expect to do some real wonders with a scope in the M1A.  The one I am trading for is all tricked out and ready to go.

I reload my own cartridges and feel that this is the way to go. It is simply too expensive to purchase and shoot good ammo out of the box.

I'm looking forward to some stimulating posts.

Welcome to the site…yes the M1A is something special.  I have a question about reloading…how much is a basic reloading system, all you need to get up and running to make your own rounds ready for the range day?

again, welcome.

Welcome Edd!

Hope your trade works out and you get a nice one!

Tracker-how many different rounds will you be reloading?  Just .308, just rifle loads or a combination of rifle and pistol?

A single stage press will be the least expensive way to get into reloading but it is far more time consuming than the progressive reloaders.  You are also going to need a really sturdy bench to bolt the reloader to-regardless of the type.

Dillon Progressives-I don't have one but have never heard anything bad about them…they have a loyal following.

Thanks for the info on the re-loader.  I don't have any experience with a re-loader but, I have several tyes of calibers 9mm, .308, 30-06 and 5.56 I was just curious since ammo is getting a little expensive thanks in part to Uncle O.
