Cabelas has a great sale on Herters 308 in bulk.  Basically 40 cents per round on 500 or 38 cents on 1000.  As I understand it,  Herters is the same as Wolf.  I do not reload, and just ran 40 rounds of Wolf through my M1A.  It functioned flawlessly and grouped respectably, although obviously not match grade.  The bore did not seem really any dirtier than with other ammo.  Has anyone had any other experience with Herters/Wolf?

i may be too particular, but i dont care to run steel ammo through my guns. also steel ammo is considered non-reloadable, though i have known of it being done.  markSurprised
